Store Display Systems was incorporated in North Carolina in 1989, as Store Design Services, Inc. by Benjamin T. Mann (ISP). His clients often asked why he didn't also provide the fixtures he drew on his plans. In response, he began providing the fixturing products they wanted and needed. He also began supervising the installation and set up of the stores he designed, making his services even more valuable.
Before founding Store Display Systems, Ben worked as a store planner for several major retailers such as Bradlees, Stop & Shop, Zayre Corp., Grossman's Lumber as well as Streater Store Fixtures. During those fifteen years he honed his skill and knowledge of store planning and store fixtures. He designed large and small discount department stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, and proto-type layouts of many different store types.
From 1996 until 2003, Store Display Systems provided outside contractor services to a regionally located store fixture company. Store Display Systems distanced itself from those ties in 2003 due to two unseasoned ownership changes in as many years of that store fixture company.
By moving forward, Store Display Systems retains the integrity, goodwill, expertise, and qualifications it is known for to better serve its existing and new customer base.
